This track had an unusual start as I created the piano chords and melodies between classes at school on my laptop. Being away from my home setup and producing in a new environment reignited my passion for music production, as I had started to experience burnout from working in my own studio.
15.5 Hours
I continued working on the track during my free time in downtown Vancouver, allowing myself to freely explore ideas and create a vast array of elements to use. I focused on sound design, chords, arpeggios, basslines, and melodies in a study room at BCIT, essentially crafting the entire track spontaneously in one location and thoroughly enjoying the process.
Once the initial creation was complete, I transferred the project to my main computer at home to refine the elements, add fine details, and incorporate new additions such as redoing the drums, adding vocal elements, and implementing automation. Finally, I mixed all the elements of the track, ensuring clarity and giving each component the space to stand out.
With my first release on June 23, 2023, I have witnessed significant changes in all aspects of my journey as an artist and creator. Not only have my skills as a music producer improved, but I have also achieved my main goal I set in 2022: to have people regularly listen to my music. With consistent playlist placements, features in mixes, and track appearances on radio shows, I am pleased with the progress I've made and excited for what lies ahead.
